Four Pillars of ACA
Family System
The family system is meant to help integrate new members into the club and college life by sorting them with two “fam heads” mentors who have already been in the club. These families will last the entire school year and foster the most personal relationships found in ACA! Your fam heads will be there to help you navigate your UCLA experience and connect you with other members of your family by hosting kickbacks, study nights, and more! Think of your ACA family as your home away from home in this organization! Every family is unique in its own way, but all of them create lasting relationships!
Socials
ACA host a variety of social events throughout the year, with the biggest one being the annual ski trip! Feel free to come out to these events to make new friends or have fun with your old ones! We host at least one major social event each quarter as a way to give people a break from their stresses and meet other students who share their experiences and make more! You don’t want to miss out!
Community Service
ACA collaborates with various local non-profit organizations that give back to the Asian American community and help to combat issues we are facing such as gentrification and xenophobia. By participating in these volunteer events you’ll be able to learn more about the sociopolitical issues affecting Chinese Americans and make a difference in the greater LA area! We represent the UCLA Chinese American identity and hope to spread awareness while connecting with the community!
Language Communities
ACA hosts weekly language communities to provide a place for people to practice or learn the Chinese languages through games and activities. This tight knit community united by our common desire to learn and connect more with the Chinese language and bond with those who feel the same! All levels of proficiency are welcome! We have three language communities — Mandarin, Shanghainese, and Cantonese — each meeting weekly, so feel free to come out and connect with others through the Chinese language!
Cultural events
ACA host various events to celebrate Chinese culture. In the fall, we have dumpling night, an event that teaches members the history of dumplings while giving them hands-on action in dumpling folding. In the winter, we have our Lunar New Year Festival, a large showcase that celebrates our heritage with food, music and acts from our constituents. Through these events and so much more, we hope you gain a deeper understanding of the Chinese heritage while connecting with those around you!
EEC Newsletter: Our Roots & Our Stories
“Our Roots & Our Stories”, ACA’s official EEC newsletter, highlights both historical and current issues facing the Chinese American community as well as the greater Asian American community in the United States. This quick read informs readers about our past histories and gives them the tools to take action in the present.

Political Corner
Political corner provides a safe space/environment where members can engage in constructive conversation regarding the nuances of political topics and concepts. Meetings are held twice a quarter, week 5 & 8 Tuesdays 5 PM - 6PM, and all resources amassed will be shared at the end of each meeting to facilitate safe, open discussion with others! Guest speakers make appearances, as well!
General Meetings
An opportunity to meet new people from both ACA and other organizations while conversing about basic political topics and learning about our own identity as Chinese Americans through activities, games, and more! Three general meetings are held each quarter regarding different topics designed to help connect with the heritage and those around you!
